The McCoy All Round Nugget. A speed machine, bringing surfing's past right up to the modern day with a light strong epoxy construction. A versatile performer in a wide range of wave conditions all around the world.
The Loaded Dome bottom contours bring control to the speed created by the width in the tail and overall volume, allowing the surfer to ride waves from knee high to overhead with controll and flow.
Thicker, wider and shorter was always the McCoy make up, with pulled in noses for duck-diving and less weight in the nose. Volume and buoyancy allowing an easy paddle around the line up, catching waves, and making the most out of every surf from waist high to whatever you want to throw at it.

A review straight from the surf, from Mango owner Joe.
Back in the day these were at the premium end of surfboard prices. You could be forgiven for thinking these boards have had their time and should be retired like the majority of their riders.
So, as a vintage surf lover, I had to give one of these a spin to see if they still have a place in a modern lineup.
For full disclosure, I have not been surfing regularly enough. Only recently finding a love for surfing again and mostly riding longboards of late.
So today was 2-3ft, a beautiful day, with fun little waves but a bit weak and crumbly. Classic U.K. summertime conditions.
The lineup consisted of some familiar friendly faces, some longboarders, a SUP and one guy on a performance shortboard (looking at you Sami).
The Nugget absolutely flew. It paddled like a longboard, super easy to surf with plenty of speed without having to put much effort in. Turns today were cruisey, and getting the wide tail all the way round will take some practice but for sheer fun this board was through the roof!!
The shape is unconventional for sure, loads of foam all the way from nose to tail. Lots of entry rocker to help with steeper takeoffs, avoiding nosedives for the learners and intermediates. With soft rails perfect for all conditions, this is one of the most forgiving, user friendly boards out there.
There's a lot of info out there on McCoys proprietary “loaded dome” concept, which essentially is a gently rolled bottom which is supposed to help with such a high volume board “allows for effortless paddle-ins, increased speed, enhanced control, and versatility in a wide range of wave conditions”. The model I surfed was the epoxy FX, which felt light and responsive and is still pressure-ding free.
I can absolutely vouch for paddle power and speed. The board felt great and positioned well. It turned well, any difficulty was more 'me' than the board considering this was only my second surf in a 6 months. Wave count was high. Vibes and smiles were all time. An incredible board for anyone who just wants to catch lots of waves and have some fun.
I’ve come out the water buzzing. That’s what it’s all about. And with board prices now going through the roof these are no longer in that super premium price bracket. We have a sale on right now so check in with the McCoy's here. These boards are right there in the mix with everyday board prices, premium construction and performance.
Try mine out if you are tempted to take one for a spin.
This guilty pleasure should be shared!
