From a small shop in Caloundra David "Humphrey" Lascelles started Cord Surfboards in Caloundra, at age 17 with support from his parents, alongside craftsmen like Bob McTavish, Kevin Platt, and John Mantle. It ignited a cultural explosion in surfing that ripped through Australia and echoed around the worldwith "The Hot Generation," later moving to Cornwall, UK, with Peter "Chops" Lascelles, evolving into a Legend of the custom surfboard world. Cord Surfboard - Classic Longboard 9'6" - Rioja Tint
The Cord Classic is drawn from the original template that the “Hot Generation” designed in the Cord factory in Caloundra back in 1965. The wide point or hip is in the lower region of the board with a rolled belly vee on the bottom toward the fin. This give a great pivot for turning off the back foot. The old style 50/50 rails give a a lovely rolling feeling between turns.
Cord - Classic 9'4'' with tint - Arthur Randall model
Just like the classic but with a slightly pulled in nose for better waves.

Cord - Humbucker 5'10'' with orange tint
5.10 x 21 x 2 9/16 - 37.11 Litres.
The Humbucker is a fish style, snub nosed twin fin made for small to medium waves, critical turns, airs, barrels and the main thing, getting in
The Humbucker, named after the famous dual coil guitar pick-up because of it's extra volume and extra bite! It starts with a beaked nose which lets you keep a heap of volume in the board right up under your chest for maximum paddle entry. A low nose and tail rocker combined with a wider, straighter outline means a lot of surface area in the water which is great for speed and planing across flatter sections of waves. The tail is a fairly wide swallow, again giving good surface area on the water but giving great turning response. Between the twin fin boxes is a short split channel to help give the board more lift under the back foot helping with speed from the off and through your turns. This design is great for getting waves and has lots of flow once up and riding. At first glance the Humbucker looks like a small wave board only but it can also be super fun in fast, steep waves and has become Markie’s go to board in 6ft barrels.
Cord - Sailfish 6'10" with green tint
6.10 x 21 x 2 11/16 - 42.8 Litres
The Sailfish is a long fish surfboard designed for maximum speed and flow down the line, with the ability to hold a rail and turn on a dime.
If you want a great paddler that catches waves with ease, trims like a dream and connects sections then this drawn-out version of our classic fish shape will absolutely put a smile on your dial.We took our much-loved Flying Vee template, stretched it out and adjusted the outline, rocker profile and bottom contours (single to double to spiral-vee) to deliver a balance of unrivalled speed and maximum manoeuvrability in a really surfer-friendly package. Don’t be fooled by the “bigger board” dimensions – these fine adjustments mean that the Sailfish feelsmuch smaller when you’re surfing it than when you’re paddling it. And isn’t that exactly what we all want from a surfboard? This shape is so versatile and fun that it became a main stay in head-shaper Markie’s quiver over the six months of testing pre-launch. He rides the 6’8’’ stock dimensions, a foot longer than his Flying Vee fish.
